The Walk of Gracious Attention

At a recent meeting of our Green Team, we broke into pairs and went out into the building on a "walk of gracious attention". Our job was to see the space with new eyes, noticing things that related to our commitment to be greener. We didn't make judgements, but instead invited ourselves to simply notice things that we might have questions about. When we returned, we shared with the others what we had noticed. We decided to address some small things right away. (Eg. We unplugged a rarely used fridge.) And we decided what we would like to take forward for potential future action. (Eg. Examining the energy efficiency of our present external doors.) The whole exercise took about an hour, and was a fascinating and energizing way of engaging in self-assessment. We plan to do it again!
